I don’t even know how to begin writing this.
As you’ve read in the previous post, my bus was delayed for a VERY LONG time, and the time spent on the bus finally amounted to 21 hours. Yes, you’ve read it right. TWENTY-ONE HOURS. I wasted an ENTIRE day on the bus doing practically nothing. My legs were numb and my neck was sore after the journey.
And you thought this was the absolute end to it.
But no.
Although I cancelled my return bus ticket, and went for the always-reliable Shinkansen, more drama was awaiting me.
On my way back from Osaka to Tokyo, someone decided to commit suicide on the train tracks and instead of arriving at 11pm just so I could catch the last local train home, I reached Tokyo at 2.45am. And of course, no more buses or trains were running at that unearthly time. The lucky thing was, JR (Japan Rail) decided to refund me half of my ticket price and I used that money to take a taxi home from Shinagawa station. Oh did I mention that taxis are absolute no-nos in Tokyo? They are probably the world’s most expensive.
So yeah, my luck was unbelievably bad for this trip. Think I should pay a visit to the Meiji Shrine…
